ELLERSLIE TRAINING

QUIET MORNING’S WORK Dismal weather greeted trainers at Ellerslie this morning, and very little fast work was executed. Number three grass track was available, the going being heavy after incessant rainfall. Beau Cavalier hit out freely over six furlongs in 1.26 3-5. Wenday ran over a circuit in 1.45, the last six furlongs in 1.24. Gay Cockade covered half a mile in 52 3-5, while Bulolo got over a similar journey in 51 4-5. On the sand The Thorn and Palmares ran five furlongs in 1.7 1-5. Ned Kelly gave a satisfactory exhi- , bition over four schooling hurdles, and is in healthy order for engagements at Whangarei next week.
