“SYNTHETIC SIN”

COLLEEN MOORE PICTURE COMING

“Synthetic Sin,” ngarded as the most entertaining and exciting comedydrama in which Colleen Moore lias ever appeared, has been booked at the Plaza and Tivoli Theatres for an engagement commencing next Thursday.

Miss Moore, always a favourite with Auckland theatregoers, is said to have surpassed anything she has ever done before as a comedienne with her portrayal in “Synthetic Sin.” She will be seen as an innocent little Southern girl, who goes in search of “experience" in the underworld to obtain a dramatic background that will enable her to become a great actress. Her hilarious and melodramatic adventures are interwoven with an unusual romance that provides an exceptionally amusing plot. Antonio Moreno plays opposite Miss Moore in this First National picture, others in the cast being Montagu Love and Gertrude Astor.

The story ot “The .Lily of Killariiey,'* the latest British International picture, is based on the well-known opera, which in turn is adapted from the stage play, ‘Colleen Bawn,” by the well-known actor now touring New Zealand, Dion Boucicatilt. Pamela Parr plays the leading female role, supported by two well-known legitimate stage actors, Cecil Landeau and : Dennis Wyndham. The natural and i beautiful landscapes of western Ireland are a strong feature of this production, which will be released shortly throughout New Zealand by Cinema Art Films.
