AUCKLAND TO LOSE CHIEF POSTMASTER
MR. W. J. GOW’S TRANSFER POSITION AT HEAD OFFICE The Chief Postmaster at Auckland, Mr. W. J. Gow, will leave Auckland on March 5 for Wellington, where he will take over an important position in the head office. It is not expected that Mr. Gow will return to Auckland again. Mr. G. McNamara, secretary to the Post and Telegraph Department, is leaving shortly to attend a conference in London. This will mean a reorganisation of the head office, and Mr. (Tow lias been appointed to the position of second assistant-secretary. He joined the Post and Telegraph department at; Oamaru at the age of L and in a comparatively short time - was transferred to the head office ia Wellington. Twenty- five years later he was appointed to Auckland as chief clerk, ns was recognised as one of the most Promising men in the department. In ~ 3 ~ 3 he was appointed to his present Position.
