Press Association) (United Service) OTTAWA, Saturday. The trade of Canada for the 12 months ending January 31 totalled £520 379,75 c, an increase of £59,400,000 over the corresponding period a year ago. The domestic exports totalled £2 <_,420,99u, an increase of £29,000,000, and imports £247,953,960, an increase of £30,400,000. The duty collected was £39,044,197, an increase of £5,200,000. PAYMENTS TO DAIRYMEN For the January supply, the Cambridge and Bruntwood Co-operative Dairy Companies will advance £35,535. The Cambridge Dairy Company will pay out £31,300 on the basis of Is 6d per lb butterfat for cheese, and Is 5d for butter, against Is 4d and Is 3d respectively for the corresponding period of the previous season, when the pay-out was £22,500. For January the Bruntwood Company will pay out £4,235 11s 6d, on the basis of Js 6d a lb butter-fat, against Is 4d for January. 1928, when the pay-out amounted to £3,361 lld^ The Te Awarnutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, made 103 tons of butter in January, an increase of 72 per cent., compared with the same month of last year. The butter output for the eight months of the season to date is 5581 tons, compared with 350 J tons last yeaV * The company is making a cash advance of Is 5d a lb butter-fat for finest cream supplied in January, and shareholders will be credited with an additional Id. The total payment to suppliers for the season to date is £73,554, compared with £ 12,480 last year. The output of the Hikurangi Dairy Company’s factory ‘ast month was 196 ions 16cwt, against 14S tons 12cwt for January, 1928. For the. season to Januaiy 21 the total output has been 934 tons 19cwt, compared with 76S tons 4cwt. The pay-out shows an equally satisfactory increase, from £17,170 8s 4d in January, 1928. to £25,465 Is Id last month.
