FIRE IN BUNKERS
OUTBREAK ON MAHANA Press Association INVERCARGILL, Sunday. A fire was discovered in the bunkers of the steamer Mahana on her trip from Wellington to the Bluff. Owing to the efficient fire-fighting facilities, and the prompt action of officers and crew, the lire was got under control. So far as is known, the vessel, which arrived at Bluff; at 8.30 last evening, will proceed direct to London to discharge her New Zealand cargo.
