DISTRICT ENVELOPED DAMAGE IN WEST AUSTRALLA (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. noon. PERTH, To-day. Damage estimated at between £50,000 and £70,000 has been done by a bush fire which enveloped the greater part of North Dandalup, near Pinjarra, about 35 miles south of Perth. Driven by a fierce wind the flames consumed large stacks of timber. All the inhabitants of the district assisted in stopping the progress of the fire by means of a break. After a strenuous fight lasting all night, they managed to prevent the fire from crossing into thousands of acres of cleared country, and thereby saved their homes.
