FLOODS IN QUEENSLAND
WHARVES AND BRIDGES UNDER WATER YOUTH FEARED DROWNED (United PA.—By T*ieg»aph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association J Reed. 11.27 a.m. BRISBANE, To-day. It is feared that the floods in the north have claimed one victim. A youth named Fairweather, who left Abercorn three days ago to take food to his father, who was working in the bush, has not been seen since. It is feared that he has been drowned. At Bundaberg the water is covering the wharves to a depth of 9ft, and has entered many dwellings and several trains. On the swollen rivers north of Townsville bridges have been submerged. At Proserpine, an exceptionally severe flood is feared. The weather bureau has issued a warning that a cyclone is developing between Cardwrell, Willis Island and Bowen.
