CONFERENCE ON MOTOR-TAX

Press Association WELLINGTON, To-day. Sir Joseph Ward announced to-day that the Cabinet has decided the Minister of Industrties and Commerce would investigate the question of the cash-order system. It was not considered necessary to set up a special committee. Cabinet decided to call tenders for a fortnightly mail service between Dunedin, Bluff and Melbourne, commencing on October 1 next. It was decided to call a. conference of motor-car owners, county councils, municipalities, the Main Highways Board and the Public Works, to go fully into the question of motor taxation, at a date to be decided later.
