“DACRE GOES NAP”
“Dacre Goes Nap,” is the headline i of a column in the “Sports Times.” ! which records an appearance of Ces. j Dacre, the erstwhile Shore cricketer, in a game of Soccer at Bristol. Dacre was playing for Sneyd Park in the senior Downs League competition, and the old New Zealand Soccer rep. showed that his boot has not lost its cunning by shooting five goals put of seven scored
by the winners. Ces. had a try-out in professional Soccer and shaped well, but an injured bone in the wrist, acquired in the Gentlemen v. Players match when he scored 9J, became troublesome again and at the suggestion of the Gloucester County Cricket authorities Ces. decided to cut out professional football and content himself with the amateur clubs. The injury to the wrist bone gave rise to a rumour j in town that he had broken his arm, [ but according to latest advice the exile ! is wintering well and looking forward to the next cricket season, although he will not be eligible for the county competitions till 1930.
