As a result of yesterday s play. Auckland rinks skipped by Walker (.Auckland), llosking (Carlton). Find- j lay (Mount Eden). Parsons (Fonsonby), Bremer (West End) and N. Bell j (Hamilton) have qualified for section play on Wednesday. Monday and : Tuesday will be occupied with the pairs In the eighth round. M. Walker. 6 wins, met Gordon (St. Johns) and won by 5 points, always having the best of the game. The Aucklander has 7 wins and 1 loss, and is among the select 2 a rinks which qualify. Clark (Mount Albert), with 4 wins and 2 losses, met Stevens (Victoria), 7 losses, and Stevens obtained his first win, defeating the Mount Albert men, 17 —-3. Clark had 4 wins and 4 losses. Parsons (Ponsonby), o wins, lost to Sewell (St. Johns), 19 —22, in the sec- > ond round, and to Rennie (Christ- I church) in the seventh after a great J battle, in which both teams were play- j ing great boiws, 15 —16. He then met } Bissell, of Napier, in the eighth game, j and defeated him, 23 —16. Parsons has j 6 wins, as also has Rennie (Christchurch) in this section. Parsons has qualified in both the singles and rinks so far, and, partnered by Somervell in the pairs, should be heard of on Monday and Tuesday, when the fourbowl artists commence their games. Bainbridge (Mount Eden), had 3 wins and 3 losses, and then met Casey (Thorndon). He defeated Thorndon rink by 2 points, but the Mount Eden men failed to qualify. Pilkington (Hamilton), 4 wins, met llosking (Carlton), 6 wins, and after a battle royal, defeated his opponent by three points. Pilkington, with 5 wins and 3 losses, failed to qualify. Bell (Hamilton) has 6 wins, his only loss being in the fifth, when Galbraith (St. Johns) defeated him, 20—16. Bell then met Ryan (Remuera), who had 4 wins to his credit, and the Remuera rink downed the hot Hamilton rink, 3—15. Bell qualifies with 6 wins. AN M.P. GOES DOWN Findlay (Mount Eden), 5 wins, 2 losses, played Nash (Palmerston North), who had 4 wins up to this stage, and beat the member of Parliament’s team, 28—18. In this section (J), there are two seven-game winners in McWhannell (Hataitai) and Noble Adams (Blenheim). Findlay (Mount Eden) and Griffin (N.S.W.) secured 6 v/ins each. Hosking (Carlton), 6 wins, 1 loss, j met Pilkington (Hamilton), and lost j to the Hamilton men, 24—27. Hosking, i however, qualifies. He lost the fifth I round to Bartlett (Nelson), who also qualifies. Gordon (Carlton), with 5 losses and 2 wins, played Wardrop (Woodville), 5 wins and 2 losses, and the Woodville rink defeated the Carlton reps, 29 —10, Wardropp qualifying with 6 wins. Armstrong (Pukekohe), with 3 wins and 4 losses after the seventh round, met Wyatt (Caledonian), who had fared even worse, having gone down to the tune of 6 losses and 1 win. The game resulted in a win for the Northerners, 34—26. SUMMARY OF PLAY Winners of seven games are: Edwards (Temuka), Ardell and McWhannell (Hataitai), Woolf (Christchurch). King (Hastings). Skoglund (Stratford), Doherty (Kolburn), Hill (Wellington), Harrison (V.8.A.), Noble-Adams (Blenheim), Walker (Auckland). There were 11 seven-game winners, and 14 six-game, as follow: Bremner (West End). Britland (Pahiatua), Lowry (Kelburn), Parsons (Ponsonby), Rennie (Christchurch), Naylor (Thorndon), N. Bell (Hamilton), C. Bell (Seatoun), Bartlett (Nelson), l-losking (Carlton), Langiey ( Caledonian), Findlay (Mount Eden), Griffin (N.S.W.), and Wardrop (Wood-Twenty-five teams are still left in.
