LIFEBOAT FOR PLANES
FASTEST IN THE WORLD Times Cable. LONDON, Saturday. The largest and fastest lifeboat in the world, which is designed for the rescue of distressed cross-Channel airplanes, is being built for the National Lifeboat Institution. Her speed will be 18 knots. She will be stationed at Dover, and will assist cross-Channel steamers, but she will be unsuitable for the shallow' waters on the Goodwin Sands.
