WATERFRONT FIGHT
UNIONISTS V. VOLUNTEERS FIRST FOR SOME WEEKS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Rec. 11.40 a.m. MELBOURNE.. To-day. When unionists manhandled a volunteer labourer, a body of volunteers retaliated. Sticks and bottles were used freely, and the unionists were being overcome when the police arrived on the scene and quelled the fight.
This was the first outbreak on the waterfront for several weeks.
