RACE-PARTY CAPSIZED

JOCKEY BREAKS A RIB MOTOR-CAR WRECKED (From Our Own Correspondent) HUNTLY, Friday. When passing a heavy lorry proceeding in the same direction southwards, and en route to the Taumarunui races, a car containing the jockeys A. Driscoll and F. McGovern, and Mrs. E. G. Beart, struck and capsized about a mile north of Huntly, on the main Great South Road. The edge of the road gave way, the back wheels skidded, and the car turned over on its right side. McGovern was lucky and escaped with a bad shaking, Mrs. Beart with cuts and lacerations of the right hand, while Driscoll received a fractured rib and abrasions to the face. He is at present an inmate of the Huntly Hospital. The car is a wreck, all wheels being broken. ________________
