Joan Crawford. motion picture beauty, boasts a collection of 200 pairs of shoes Lon Chaney’s rival, John Gilbert, has his whole make-up changed by a switch in lighting in “Mask of the Devil.” There are two different faces in different pigments painted on his own. Each is made visible by a different character of lights. Clive Brook, once a London newspaper reporter, becomes a technical adviser for “Interference,” the stage play being filmed at Paramount. One scene shows the city room of an English paper. The manner in which a British reporter goes about the business of covering a big news story is shown. When “Lilac Time” opened at' Car thay Circle Theatre in Hollywood, the little Irish star, Colleen Moore, received many beautiful baskets of flowers. Imagine Colleen’s embarrassment when the flowers were later moved to her studio and she had no idea who to thank for them, since all the cards had been clipped ofT by souvenir hunters.
