LABOUR AND WOOL TRADE (V Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON. Thursday. At a meeting of the Labour members of Parliament who represent West Riding constituencies, Mr. Philip Snowden presided. They passed a resolution to the effect that protection is no remedy for the admitted difficulties of the wool trade, Which could only be overcome by the trade adapting itself to the changed conditions, and that safeguarding duties in other industries had not justified themselves. It was decided unanimously and uncompromisingly to oppose the attempt to apply what was termed “the quack remedy” of protection, which the meeting considered would be disastrous alike to the industry and to its employees
