MUTUAL CLUB

BRIDGE AND DANCING Coloured streamers and bowls of glorious rambler roses decorated the Mutual Club rooms last evening, when bridge and dancing were enjoyed by a cheery crowd of club members and friends. WELCOME AT MANUREWA

Many guests attended the garden party given by Airs. David L. Nathan at “The Hill,” Manurewa, yesterday afternoon for Mrs. R. Jessel, who recently arrived from England, and who is Airs. Nathan's guest. The opportunity was also taken to welcome Airs. H. O. Nolan on her arrival back from her stay in England. To receive her guests, Airs. Nathan wore a chic little French frock of parchment georgette with panels of lace, giving softness to the corsage and flat piisse frills falling in circular fashion from the waistline to the hem of the I skirt. Her hat was a wide-brimmed one of ivory and • black. Airs. Jessel’s frock was of ivory georgette patterned all over in navy , blue floral designs, and with it she i wore a black hat of Bangkok straw. ! Airs. H. O. Nolan chose an attractive jgown of rose patterned black crepe de chine and accompanied it by a dainty black hat. Aliss Dorothy Nolan was wearing a ■ pretty frock of flowered georgette in a • delicate pink shade and a hat of beige toning. Others present included: Lady Sinclair Lockhart, whose ensemble was of navy blue georgette and mariette worn with a flower-trimmed blue hat.
