SUCCESSFUL SALE
DEMAND FOR CROWN LANDS (From Our Oven Correspondent) MATAMATA, Thursday. The Commissioner of Crown Lands held a successful auction sale at the Town Hall, Matamata, yesterday, of Crown sections, mostly quarter acres, situated in the township. Prices ranged from £4O to £125. Twenty-four sections were offered and 17 were sold. Nine sections were disposed of at the upset price. Purchasers were as follow:—Mrs. Griffiths, Mrs. Swap, Messrs. T. Stanley, T. J. Underwood, Les Mason, W. L. Wilson, L. Bush, and the Matamata Croquet Club.
