NEW CATTLE YARDS

INCREASE IN RAILWAY TRAFFIC In order to cope with the increase in stock traffic, the Railway Department is building new cattle yards at the Mangaiti and Kopu stations, on the Thames-Paeroa line. It has also been decided to move the crossing siding from Mangaiti to a site two miles on the Paeroa side of its present position. This removal of the site is merely to equalise the tablet section when trains are crossing each other.
