MOTOR-CYCLISTS HURT
COLLISION WITH 'CAR INTERESTING WAR RECORD Press Association PAHIATUA, To-day. William J. Feasy and John Watson, pahiatua County Council employees, i«et with an accident last evening a short distance from the town in the direction of Mangatainoka. A motor-cycle, ridden by Feasy with Watson on the pillion seat, collided with a service car proceeding to Palmerston North when passing the county grader. Watson fractured his thigh, and cut one hand and leg. Feasy received severe injuries to one knee and his nose, and other abrasions. Watson is a married man with a young family. He served on minesweepers in the Royal Navy and also with the forces in Italy. He was awarded a special medal by the American Government for gallantry in rescuing American sailors stranded on a raft in the Atlantic. Three vessels he was on during the war were blown up by the enemy.
