COUNCILLOR WHO SOLD SECTION RESIDENTS EXPRESS SYMPATHY ryrom Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Wednesday. Considerable surprise was created in tho town when it was known that Mr. C. Lafferty. of Frankton, has been instructed to resign from the Hamilton Borough Council by the Audit Department The fact was revealed at a meeting of tho Frankton Citizens* Association this week, at which Mr. Lafferty attended. He explained that in order to provide a corner easement he had sold a small section of land to the council. Apparently the Audit Department had taken some exception to this. The town clerk has stated that it is the intention of the council to dispute the department’s ruling. The matter >\ ill be officially dealt with at the council meeting to-morrow night. The Citizens’ Association passed a motion of sympathy with Mr. Lafferty and asked the council to take steps to have him reinstated at the earliest moment.
