COLD CHIEF OBSTACLE

SWIMMER CONSIDERS COOK STRAIT CROSSING (Special to THE SUE) CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday. That the main obstacle in her attempt to swim Cook Strait early next year will be the coldness of the water is the opinion of Miss Lily Copplestone, of Ashburton. She has been training solidly, and has made great progress during the last fortnight. Mr. L. Moorhouse, of Christchurch, who represented New Zealand at the Olympic Games this year, is her trainer. The swim ‘will start from the top of Queen Charlotte Sound and is expected to occupy 15 or 16 hours. The attempt will probably be made during January.
