SCARLET FEVER
INCREASE FOR NOVEMBER SEVENTY-SEVEN NOTIFICATIONS The number of cases of scarlet fever reported in the Auckland health district during: the month of November shows an increase over the preceding: month of 30 cases. The total number of infectious t diseases notilicd was 242. as compared with 195 in October and *207 in September. All districts except ThamcsTauratiga share in the increase. There were 40 cases of diphtheria, an increase of 11, and tuberculosis eases totalled 38, nine more than in October. Though pneumonic influenza has increased, cases of pneumonia have ! decreased.
