White Jade is Outstanding Among Novelties of Season

White Shoes of Every Type Touched Here and There With Colour

A dominant note of the smart mode in fashionable shoes is a colour new to footwear—white jade. Combined with silk kid or daintily patterned reptile leathers for trim,, the shade in fine kid is strikingly attractive and effective. Limitless shades and styles have come to the fore this season, but some are so obviously correct as to overshadow the effectiveness of others. The woman of fashion has no trouble in matching shoes to her ensemble or providing contrasts to strike a note of individuality. Individuality has long been the keynote of costumiers, and shoe stylists have just reached the plane where a woman may select footwear in excellent style and be sure that her ensemble will not be duplicated everywhere. There is such a wide variety of patterns and leathers this year that the well-dressed woman is perfectly safe in assuming that she may express her own characteristic individuality from head to foot. Designers of footwear have made enormous strides forward and the day of the style shoes is gone for ever. Of the netv and popular leathers the reptiles present an unending procession of patterns and colour combinations. It is seemingly safe to say that no two reptile skins are exactly alike.

No mode of the past has presented such opportunities for individual expression as the reptiles. Water snake is particularly effective, while the lizard, python and alligator leathers offer unending possibilities. FOR TENNIS WEAR In the white-shoe realm there is every kind of fabric to be seen. Kids, buckskin, fine white reptile, skins, canvas, suede and a host of other dainty things. Some of the season’s smartest white shoes are those for tennis, made in white canvas and given chic by appliques of colourful kid, perhaps in scarlet, blue or green. Another novelty that will be seen gaily on the courts this summer is the crepe-soled shoe of scarlet, or other vivid kid. Given a belt or scarf of matching shade, these shoes will strike a particularly smart note in tennis attire.
