Saturday. The Hauraki Plains Tennis Associa—tion which controls the activities of about 200 players in the county, held its annual meeting at Ngatea yesterday, Mr. A. H. McClean presiding. The annual rep‘ort recorded a suc—cessful season from a playing point of View. but financially the association had gone back. and there was a. debit balance of £4 10s 2d. The annual ball had resulted in a. substantial loss on ‘account of bad weather. I Moving the adoption of the report lthe president observed that the suclcess of a season was not judged in ‘terms of £ s d. and while it was necessary for attention to be given to the financial position it was gratifying to know that tennis could still be provided cheaper than by any other asociation.
