HOUSE DESTROYED
FIRE AT CASTOR BAY An unoccupied six-roomed house at Castor Bay was destroyed by fire about H o’clock on Saturday evening. At the time a strong north-westerly wind was blowing, and a water supply not being available, the spectators could do no -more than beat out the fire which spread to the long grass, threatening other houses. The house, which was owned by Mr W. F. Handley, of New Lynn, was fully furnished, but only the building was covered by Insurance.
