I This programme is headed by “Detectives," in which Karl Dane and 'George K. Arthur have the leading roles. _ “Detectives" is a. new idea in comedy. It is, primarily, a. mystery thriller. But the two heroes of “Rookies,” as‘ amateur' ”detectives, blunder into every thrill to produce a. ludicrous anti—climax, and their trials, tribulations, hair-raising escapes and so on create one of the funniest comedies in their experience as laughmakers. “Down on the Farm," 3. most amus: ing Aesop Fable cartoon, is the first {attraction on the supporting pictorial prograunme. All the latest 'world’s news is contained in the ever popular and interesting Majestic News. A hilarious comedy is “Tell it to ‘the Judge." Max Davidson, the little comedian, who in a very short time has become very popular with Majestic patrons, is starred in this merry fll‘m. Last, but not least, is the (scenic gem, “Beautyland,” photographed in the new “Bloom” process. The beauty of rugged mountains, huge waterfalls and the mists of the morning, is most effectively portrayed. It is one hundred years since Franz Schubert, the composer of many beautiful musical gems, died, and musicians all over the world are honouring his name by playing his compositions. Mr. Whiteford W'augh, the popular conductor of the Majestic Orchestra, will, as his contribution to Schubert’s memory, play selections from “Lilac Time,” based on the literof Schubert, and incorporating some, of his most beloved melodies. -
