MR. MASSEY SCORES
ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING AT WAIUKU CONFIDENCE IN REFORM (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) WAIUKU, Thursday. During the whole of his speech to over 700 electors at Waiuku on Wednesday evening, Mr. J. N. Massey, Reform candidate for Franklin, was enthusiastically applauded. Mr. Massey spoke on the lines of his previous campaign addresses. Inteijjections were fairly frequent, but tlie candidate scored heavily off the interrupters. His address occupied two hours, and many questions were answered. With Mr. Massey on the platform were Messrs. E. D. McLennan, M P and J. B. Sim. The candidate’s service on local bodies was referred to, and Mr. McLennan, briefly addresing the electors. described the candidate as vigorous. and straightforA motion of confidence in the Reform Government and in the candidate vi as carried by a large majority. An amendment was defeated.
