GOOD OLD UNCLE
followers of the sport in Auckland will be pleased to know that Uncle Bert has not finished his racing career, and ths Gold Bell gelding is back at toil under the care of Bill Clifton, who was responsible a couple of season* back for getting the rugged pacer up to concert pitch. Uncle’s vie* tory in 1927 in ths Adams’ Memor* ial Cup has not been forgotten by his friends, and the fact that he »* one of the best saddle merchants in this province will not be overlooked. Like the rest of Gold Bell’s progeny Uncle Bert improves with age, and the best of him has not yet been seen.
