£150,000 FOR HUMANE SOCIETY
ROTARLAN’S BIG GIFTS British Official Wireless RUGBY, Saturday. Another munificent gift for charitable purposes was announced to-day. A philanthropist has executed a deed of gift of approximately £150,000 in favour of the British Humane Society, which will come into operation after his death. The same benefactor has subscribed £5,000 to communal service for the use of the Guild of Freemen of the City of London, on condition that the guild subscribe an equal sum to the British Humane Society and become founders. A similar arrangement has been made with the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, the object being that the association shall continue in perpetuity to be dominated by the ideals set out in Rotary, of which the donor is a member.
