FUND FOR NEW CHURCH
CONGREGATION GIVES £1,095 At the morning and evening services in St. Luke’s Presbyterian- Church, Remuera, yesterday, £1,095 was received to help the new church building fund. This total included donations and the first instalments of contributions which members of the congregation had promised to make over various periods. The total building fund is now about £5,000, but the new church, if built in stone according to the tentative pla.ns that have been prepared, will cost about £15,000, and it is not intended to let the contract until at least £IO,OOO is in sight. The seating capacity of the proposed church will be 434. The present building is 62 years old.
