SIDE-SHOW COMPANY “STRONG MAN” FARES WORST Press Association ' PAIII AT UA. Sa turda y. A serious motor eccident occurred this afternoon on the main road between Mangatainokai and Xgawapurua. The bursting ol' the rear lefthand tyre of a motor-lorry containing j a side-show returning from Carterton | caused the lorry to somersault down a slope. v The injured are: Roy Rix, driver, severe cuts and bruises. Pat O’Brien, injured ankle. Fred Habbigan, broken shoulder j blade. Tom Burke and Barney Worth, a broken arm each. All have been taken to hospital. They were members of Staig’s Enterprises. Rix, O’Brien and Burke were seated in the cab, the other two being on top of the load, which comprised a merry-go-round side-show and a chair-o-plane. Barney Worth, a man of unusual physical proportions, fared worst.
