ADVICE TO U.S. FARMERS

HIGHER WHEAT PRICES EXPECTED (United P.A. — By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) WASHINGTON, Saturday. The Secretary of Agriculture, Mr. W. M. Jardine, to-day reiterated his former opinion that farmers should hold .their wheat in anticipation of a rising marHe said the large amount of wheat thrown on the market was unduly depressing the price. This year’s increased supply of wheat would be offset by an increased demand, and other factors. ITe could see nothing in the situation now to change his advice. He said the Canadian wheat crop last year was apparently under-estimated. The Canadian bread wheat available for all uses totalled between 445,000,000 bushels and 465,000,000 bushels. This year’s crop, without the hard wheat, would furnish the equivalent in bread grain supply of approximately 475,000,000 bushels.
