DISTEMPER VACCINE
IMPORTANT DISCOVERY (Australian and K.Z. Press Association) (United Service) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Monday. The discovery of a vaccine immunising dogs from distemper is claimed by two Medical Research Council research men. Messrs. P. P. Laid! aw and G. W. Dunkin. They report a very small mortality, while the immunisation results are most encouraging. Lord Mildmay, of Flete, describes the experiments as epoch-making. The malignant agency of distemper is similar to that of influenza in human beings, ot which it is hoped the discoveries will be a great step toward prevention.
