OVER £2OOO Paid in Claims No Other Scheme Approaches THE SUNS in Liberality Up to September 30, over 250 SUN subscribers or their next of kin had been compensated under the liberal Free Insurance scheme originated in New Zealand by THE SUN. The total compensation paid to date exceeds £2,000. The great majority of claims paid arose out of minor accidents which caused temporary total disablements. These claims would not have been recognised under an imitation scheme, which was launched after THE SUN announced its intention of providing free insurance for its readers. In three cases the next of kin has been compensated for the death of the subscriber, but the outstanding feature of THE SUN’S scheme is compensation for injuries that disable the subscriber temporarily from following his or her usual occupation. Few persons contemplate the possibility of violent death, but should it occur to THE SUN subscriber, a sum not exceeding £I,OOO (according to the nature of the accident as defined in the conditions) is payable to the next of kin. Minor Occidents, however, are an everyday possibility, and by insuring with THE SUN instead of with papers that do not recognise any such liability, the reader can secure compensation accordingly.
