NOTHING TO FEAR
NEW ZEALAND BUTTER INDUSTRY PROSPECTS IN RUSSIA New Zealand has nothing to fear from other butter-producing countries of the world. That is the opinion of Mr. O. W. Olsonn. a passenger on the Niagara, who is a representative of a large Swedish separator - manufacturing lirm. At one time he was farming at Morrinsville, but now he tours all the butter-producing countries of the world. Mr. Olsonn stated last evening that ho had recently been in touch with Russia and from what he knew Liberia, if properly organised, would become a big figure and a competitor on the world’s butter market. In the Argentine, which he recently visited, there is great activity in dairying and many of the big landowners are establishing their own factories. Speaking of New Zealand, he said that the Dominion had nothing to learn in butter- making. Her product was considered the best produced in the British Dominions and was in great favour in all parts of the world. Mr. Olsonn considers that New Zealand butter made for her own market is every bit as good as Danish, but unfortunately it loses a little in quality on the voyage to England.
