W. H. Brinsden, at Waikumete Cemetery yesterday afternoon. After a short service, conducted by ' the Rev. T. A special car was necessary for the conveyance of the 150 wreaths. At the graveside service Mr. Halliday referred to Mr. Brinsden’s long association with civic and public affairs in which he had rendered long and faithful service. He had always upheld what he considered just and right and during his term on the City Council had endeavoured to make the city as pure as possible, and it would be extremely difficult to replace him in public affairs. Mr. Brinsden was a member of the Druids’ Order and a special Druids’ service was conducted at the graveside. As a mark of respect the Municipal Band played a funeral march at the opening of its performance at the Zoological Park yesterday afternoon.
