Organisation work to assist the ] campaign of Mr. A. Harris, Reform candidate for Waitemata, was accomplished on Saturday evening, when Mr. Harris briefly addressed a meeting of political supporters. Mr. T. Hislop presided. The Reform campaign in the Subyrbs seat will go forward this evening, when the candidate, Sir James Gunson, will speak at Avondale Town Hall at 8 o’clock. The Government’s achievements, together with its policy for the future, will be outlined. • • * The sitting member for Auckland West and candidate for re-election, Mr. M. J. Savage, will expound Labour’s platform in the opening speech of his campaign at the Britannia Theatre on Thursday evening next, October 18, at 8 p.m. Mr. Savage will traverse incidentally many episodes of the session, as seen from Labour’s viewpoint. * * * Labour’s fight for the Parnell seat will commence on Wednesday evening of this week, when the candidate, Mr. J. W. Yarnall, will speak in St. Mark’s Hall, Remuera, and give the electors an idea of what is proposed by his party, and personally his own political platform. * * * The Independent candidate for the Auckland Central seat, Mr. J. Joiner, will address the electors at St. James’ Square, corner of Wellington and Hobson Streets this evening at 7.45 o’clock. The United man for Auckland East, Mr. J. B. Donald, is meeting the ladies of his electorate at the Grafton Methodist Hall this afternoon, and outlining to them his political views. • • • At Point Chevalier Hall on Wednesday evening, Mr. John S. Fletcher, United candidate for the Grey Lynn seat, will commence his election campaign. Local as well as general questions will affect the ratepayers and electors in this district; Mr. W. J. MacMillan will preside. * * * Many meetings of candidates’ supporters will be held this week, committees formed, and general organisation work performed. They are: H. R. Jenkins, United for Parnell, tonight at Remuera Road; J. A. Lee, Labour for Auckland East, St. Andrew’s Hall, to-night; A. J. Stallworthy, United for Eden, Dominion Road Methodist Hall, to-night; W. T. Anderton, Labour for Eden, Methodist Hall, Eden Terrace, to-night; Bertrum Bunn," Reform for Manukau, Greenwood’s Corner, to-morrow evening.
