MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED
FOOTBALLERS FIND BODY MACHINE SKIDS AND TYRE BURSTS (From Our Own Correspondent) THAMES, To-day. A fatal motor-cycle accident occurred at 6 p.m. on Saturday. A young man, Keith Barrett Lockett, 23, was killed, and his pillion-rider, George Foster, 19, was injured about the head and face and had an arm broken. Both men are Public Works Office employees at Paeroa, and were returning home when the accident took place six miles from Paeroa. It was caused by the cycle skidding and the tyre bursting. Lockett was picked up dead by the Thames footballers, returning from Paeroa. Foster was admitted to the Thames Hospital, and is progressing well. Lockett. whose parents reside at Thafcies. was a prominent footballer and represented Paeroa and Thames Valley Unions.
