EMPTY HOUSE BURNED
INCENDIARISM SUSPECTED On Saturday evening an empty twostoreyed house in Cook Street was almost completely burned down. Circumstances point to the fire having been started either by a careless passer-by or by an incendiary. The house had been carefully locked up. and since there was nothing in it which could have caused spontaneous combustion, the police have been investigating the outbreak. The alarm was given about eight o’clock*, but the City Fire Brigade was unable to do much, and the house was almost completely destroyed. The building was a six-roomed wooden one, and was owned by Bishop Cleary.
