Slapped Face

German Women Quarrel on Tennis Court!

FRAU AUSSEM INVOLVED

BERLIN, August 21. A scandal which it is expected will be fought out in the police courts is exciting German tennis players. Frau Aussem, mother of Cecelie Aussem, the German girl champion, and Frau von Reznicek, have summoned each other for slander and assault. Frau von Rez-

nicek alleges that Frau Aussem recently sent a letter to the German Tennis Association declaring that Frau von Reznicek’s two victories over Cecelie were due to her daughter being hypno-

tised by Frau von Reznicek before playing.

Frau Aussem refused to withdraw the allegation, and Frau von Reznicek thereupon ‘ publicly slapped her face on a tennis court at Hamburg. For this she was suspended for six weeks. The Cologne Tennis Club has struck Frau Aussem off its list.
