The Derby colts from New ' Zealand, Kaasay and Perception, were ; both defeated in their respective engagements. The following were the j results of the principal events. — DUNDAS HANDICAP Of £200; 7 fur. REON U 1 (J. Eugia won by half a length. Time, 1.14. A Limond Trio Mask, Episode and Limosa were associated in a gallop over six furlongs after doing a round at a steady pace at Wanganui on Thursday (writes “Kestrel”). Limosa had the worst of the jump-off and did not actually join in till they had reached the five-fur-long post. They ran the furlong from the five to the four in 12 3-5, and covered the quarter in a tick over 25. Both Mask and Episode were going nicely at the finish, with Limosa not unduly hurried, the time registered by the former pair being a shade under 1.6. Mask appears as well as ever he did early in the season, while as for Episode it may be said that she will be ready to run as well as anything else in the early spring classics. Another rather impressive effort was that to the credit of Lady’s Boy, who, with The Verderer gelding, ran five furlongs in 1.5, but his companion was not of much use to him. They took 25 for the first quarter and 37 3-5 for the three. Lady’s Boy was well in front and going nicely, a fact that should be pleasing to his connections in view of his engagements at the early spring fixtures. The son of The Verderer and Bara Allgood, who has not yet been allotted a name, shows decided improvement and may come good this season, for lie has not been hurried.

he could run a solid two miles. As previously stated, the Auckland owned gelding did not get in the mon* the last two seasons, and his racinr days are over. But Dillon Wilkes not altogether left the trotting tracand he can be seen on trainer Rot

Berry’s private track drawing the harrows round the circuit keeping it in order for his associates to do their work on. His owner informed “Abaydos” during the week that the one-time speed merchant has put on gr;eat condition and is now as robust as any plough horse.
