HADLEY WELL AGAIN
To-day’s All Black Team EASTERN PROVINCE GAME (United P.A. — By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) Received 9.5 a.m. PORT ELIZABETH, Friday. AFTER much electrical massage treatment, Hadley’s shoulder has made a quick recovery, and the Aucklander will play to-morrow in the match against the Eastern Province.
The All Black team will be as follows: — Lindsay Rushbrook Lucas Robilliard Johnson Lilburne Strang Scrimshaw Snow Hazlett M Brownlie Ward McWilliams Hadley Burrows McGregor and Alley both have influenza. Stewart had his leg hurt in Wednesday’s match, and he, Sheen and Cyril Brownlie are receiving massage treatment. STRANG AGAIN HALF A NEW COMBINATION LAST GAME BEFORE TEST Although little is known of Eastern Province’s performances this season, it is known that this province has turned out some very good sides in past
seasons, and it cannot be taken too cheaply. Among its prominent players are Dold, a forward who has been selected to train for the next test, and Slater, the wing-threequarter who scored such a fine try in the first test, and who is probably one of the best wings in Africa at the present time. It is significant to note that the All Blacks are still playing Strang at half and Lilburne at first five-eighth. This combination is evidently developing well, and if stronger opposition is met to-day it will be interesting to learn how it fares. In view of the recent developments in the All Black back play, the selection of the next test backs, particularly the inside men, is going to provide the selectors with some deep thinking. It is encouraging to note that Hadley has effected a speedy recovery. Following to-day’s game there will be no matches until next Saturday, when the third and biggest test will take place. For that struggle both Stewart and Alley will be wanted, and it is to be hoped that in both cases complete recoveries will have been effected.
