Mr. Harold Norton, of London, was a visitor at the mid-day call on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day.
Major-General Sir Andrew Russell, who has been visiting Auckland, left by train for the South last evening.
Mr. Justice Blair, with Mrs. Blair and Miss Blair, arrived from Hamilton on Saturday. They are staying at Cargen.

Mr. George A. Green, secretary of the New Zealand Horticultural Trades Association, returned to Auckland today from Wellington.
Mr. H. H. Sterling, General Manager, New Zealand Railways, arrived in Frankton Junction this morning from Wellington.
Mr. J. F. Downey, Government inspector of mines on the West Coast, field, has been appointed successor to Mr. M. Paul on the Hauraki field, and will make Waihi his headquarters.
Commander Nelson Clover, R.N., who recently arrived from England, has been gazetted commander-in-command of H.M.S. Philomel, and naval officer-in-charge at Auckland.
Dr. T. H. A. Valintine, DirectorGeneral of Health, will arrive from Rotorua this afternoon to deal with departmental business. Pie will leave l'or Wellington to-morrow evening.
Bishop Cleary and Father Cyril Martindale, who were injured in a motor been gazetted commander in command to be improving, but will be kept to bed for several days yet.
Mr. Douglas Cole, who takes up an appointment at the Dargavill© High School to-day, was presented with a toilet case and collar-box by the pupils and teachers of the Waihi East School on Saturday.
Mr. E. J. Scoble, of Waihi, who has been appointed Government mine inspector on the West Coast district, has left for Reefton. Mr. Scoble has been in the Waihi district for over 20 years.
Captain V. C. Webb, assistant marine superintendent of the Union Steam Ship Company, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. C. T. Jarvis, stores superintendent to the company, also arrived.
Messrs. Kahu and A. Falwasser, of the Manukau Rugby Club, • received presentations on Saturday in recognition of their being selected in the Auckland Rugby touring team. Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., in making the presentation, expressed the good wishes of the clubs and its supporters for the success of its two representatives on tour.
Lieut.-Colonel R. G. Milligan, commanding the Northern Coast artillery group; Lieut.-Colonel J. A. Cushen, of the Southland Regiment; and Major J. L Saunders, of the Wellington Regiment, have been awarded the colonial auxiliary forces’ officers” decoration. The long - service medal has been awarded to Lieut.-Colon-el R. C.
