FATHER THREW HIM OUT

DRUNKEN MAN FINED FOR ANNOYING GIRLS (From Our Own Correspondent) MORRINSVILLE, Saturday. How the unwelcome attentions to two girls by an intoxicated man, whose name was suppressed, resulted in his arrest, was told in the Police Court to-day. The man, who was about 30 years of age, appeared before Messrs. W. T. Osborne and C. M. Gummer, J.P.’s, charged with committing an assault at midnight on Wednesday. The police evidence was that accused, who was a stranger to the locality, attended a dance at Kiwitahi about 10 days ago and offered to drive two girls home in his car, but the invitation was pointedly Refused. At 10 p.m. on Wednesday he telephoned the father of the girls and was told that he was looked upon as a source of annoyance, and that he was not wantqd. Shortly before midnight he appeared at the home of the girls and used abusive language when a door was opened by their father, who attempted to eject the unwelcome visitor. A scuffle was ended by the parent pushing the man through a window. The police were called, and accused, who was to be intoxicated,, spent the night in the cells.

A fine of £(.2 was imposed, and accused was also ordered to pay 15s for the repair of the broken window.
