TWO MEN FOUND SHOT
MANAGER AND FARMER (Special to THE SUNJ Two reports of men having been found shot have been received, one from Methven. Canterbury, and the other from Masterton. Donald Smith, aged 27, manager of Mr. Vivian Riddiford’s Tablelands Station, at Martinborough, was found or. the floor of his oflice by his housekeeper yesterday morning, with a wound in his head. She summoned a doctor, but life was extinct. Deceased was single. The body of Alexander Stockdale. aged about 50, a farmer, of liighbank, near Methven, was found on his farm early yesterday morning. There was a SPVRrp gunshot wound in thp bead. A double-barrelled shotgun lay alongside the body with one barrel discharged. Stockdale leaves a wife and aa adult family.
