How Visitors Will Be Entertained PROGRAMME DRAWN UP * Plans for the entertainment of officers and men of the Japanese Squadron, which will arrive at Auckland from Wellington at 9 o’clock on Tuesday morning, have been completed. Mr. A. B. Roberton, honorary Japanese Consul, submitted the programme to Vice-Admiral Kobayashi in Wellington this week, and it has been approved. the two vessels have berthed at Queen’s Wharf the usual official calls will be made. The senior naval officer of the New Zealand Division, present in Auckland, Commander Xelson Clover, will call on the admiral at 9.30, being followed by Colonel H. It. Potter, Officer Commanding the Northern Command, at 9.45, the deputychairman of the Harbour Board, Mr. M. H. Wynyard, at 10 a.m., and the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, at 10.15. The admiral will return the calls, visiting the Harbour Board at 'll a.m., the Town Hall at 11.20, the Northern Command at 11.40 and the senior naval officer at 12.15. On the day of arrival Prince Takamatsu, brother of the Emperor of Japan, who is a sub-lieutenant in the squadron, the admiral and stall officers, will be the guests of Mr. Rcrberton at luncheon. At 3.30 the admiral will place a wreath on the soldiers’ memorial at Waikumete Cemetery, and will later be the guest of Mr. Roberton at afternoon tea at his residence. In the evening an official “At Home” will be tendered by the City Council to the P.rince, the admiral, the captains of th© warships, 20 officers and 185 midshipmen. TRIP TO ROTORUA On Wednesday morning between 10 and 13 o’clock the admiral will receive callers, including members of the Consular Corps and chairmen of local bodies, and in the evening the Prince, admiral and officers will be the guests of the Northern Club. The Prince, acTYniral and officers will also attend a Rotary Club luncheon on Thursday, when the admiral will be the speaker of the day.
