GIRLS’ HOCKEY
AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION At the ordinary meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Ladies’ Hockey Association, Miss P. Dawson presided over a full attendance. The Arawa Club was given permission to visit Waihi on August 4. It was decided to postpone all local games on that date, in view of the English League team’s visit. It was also decided that the association should again affiliate with the Auckland Girls’ Athletic Association. The following transfers were approved: Wesley: Miss Millet, for junior team. Mount Eden: Misses Insul and Warburton and Mrs. Nash,* for senior team. Arawa: Miss E. Castles. The following transwers were approved:—Somerville: Miss M. Goldsborough from senior to junior. Y.W.C.A.: Miss M. Matthews, from junior A to senior; Miss I. Biddle, from junior B to junior A. The transfer of Miss M. Bell from Mount Eden seniors to Wesley juniors was deferred for* consideration. The first round of matches in the senior grade knock-out competition, to be commenced on August 11, was drawn as follows:—Wesley y. Somerville; Arawa v. Y.W.C.A.; Mount Eden a bye.
