TWO LOTOPA MURDERS (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Special to Press Association.) APIA, Friday. A Chinese coolie, Choo Fook, after a five days’ trial on a charge of murdering two girls at Lotopa in October, was acquitted. In a statement to the police he had confessed his guilt, but at his trial he said his alleged confession was extorted by insufficient food, and assault by the police. Accused also called evidence to prove an alibi. Under cross-examination he gave the date of the alleged assault as subsequent to the date upon which his confession was made.
