BOARDING-HOUSE BURNED
FIRE AT TAKAPUNA A two-storey boarding house in Hurstmere Road. Takapuna, was completely destroyed by fire about 2.45 this morning. The house is a fairly old, wooden one. owned by Mr. W. Balner. The brigade arrived too late so that, with the shortage of water, nothing could be done to save the building.
