Trains Back to Normal on East Coast Railway
GOODS HELD UP Thvt damage caused by floods to the railway line between Te Aroha and Paeroa and Tauranga will run into manv hundreds of pounds. It will b e some days before the permanent way can be cleared and repaired thoroughly, but trains are now running to their usual time-table. The first through train from Tauranga since Tuesday arrived in Auckland late last night. This morning, however, the expresses were able to make the journey without interruption. There has been a general bold-up of goods both to and from the Bay of Plenty district, but this will be cleared as quickly as possible. Repair gangs are clearing the track and replacing the ballast at points where erosion has occurred.
